29 Jun Realising Food Secure Communities in Aotearoa
The Kore Hiakai Zero Hunger Collective undertook a nationwide project to explore the ways in which different rohe in Aotearoa can achieve food security within their communities. They examined various tools and mechanisms that facilitate the realisation of this goal in each locality.
As part of their efforts, the collective analysed 39 localised documents produced by 30 organisations. These documents outlined the visions and strategies put forth by local communities to attain food security. They also shed light on the existing barriers within our current food systems, identified factors that enable the creation of food secure communities, and expressed their aspirations for transforming local food systems.
