Global health inequities between indigenous and non-indigenous populations require innovative and targeted approaches to be reduced. In this webinar, the He Pikinga Waiora team will present the He Pikinga Waiora Implementation Framework for agencies to effectively engage with Māori communities, and facilitate the translation of research findings in to health service delivery. The Framework has indigenous self-determination at its core and consists of four key elements: Cultural Centeredness, Community Engagement, Systems Thinking, and Integrated Knowledge Translation.

The Framework is intended as a planning tool to guide the successful development and implementation of health interventions. Funders can use the Framework to assess the likely effectiveness of proposed interventions. Community organisations can use the Framework to work with researchers or policy makers to strengthen each of the four elements.
