29 Sep He Pī Ka Rere ki Taranaki
Tamariki in the rohe of Taranaki now have new ways to be active thanks to Sport Taranaki and Tui Ora Whānau Health & Well-being who hosted a He Pī Ka Rere wānanga in July. Whānau and kaimahi from seven kōhanga reo of Taranaki came along to learn about the kaupapa which uses traditional Māori knowledge and techniques to provide tamariki with the abilities, skills, and awareness to lead a lifelong relationship with kori and kai.
Pūrākau significant to the whenua were shared through waiata and kori tinana which further inspired, encouraged and widened the perspectives on fun ways to utilise local narratives when preparing tamariki mokopuna to leave the nest… He Pī Ka Rere!
