Founded in 2006, Xero is the leader in online cloud accounting across New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom, connecting small business owners with their numbers, their bank, and advisors. Toi Tangata has been using the Xero platform for over a decade. Xero’s cloud-based accessibility, user-friendly interface, security, and ability to scale to the specific needs of Toi Tangata make accounting easy and efficient. This year, Toi Tangata’s Poutiaki, Matire Seath, attended the Xerocon 2023 conference, where Xero showcased ways to discover new Xero enhancements and connections to help streamline and grow businesses.
From the outset of Xerocon, there was an energetic atmosphere – the vibe in Sydney was fantastic! The Xero leadership team, including new Chief Product Officer, Diya Jolly, shared the latest enhancements to their platform that will help accountants and book-keepers grow their practice, help their clients succeed, and get the most out of Xero. These included several AI-powered product features and experiments that will help users to work smarter and more efficiently.
Some examples of these product features included short-term cash flow in Xero Analytics Plus, which now includes predictions for recurring invoice and bill payments, giving small businesses a clearer picture of their potential future cash flow. This will allow businesses to include future invoice and bill payments, either collectively or individually, within their cash flow forecast.
In the coming months, Xero will also be enhancing the way they use AI in bank reconciliation, to populate new contacts that aren’t already in our clients’ contact lists. This will reduce manual data entry and means that for clients who are new to Xero, bank reconciliation is made easier from day one.
At Xerocon, they explained how the Xero team is working to integrate all of their practice tools into one connected experience within Xero. Their vision is that in the future, Xero Practice Manager (XPM), Xero HQ, and Xero Tax will be seamlessly connected, with no duplicates or double handling.
The team at Xero is always looking at ways to improve their products and services and are partnering with some big organisations to ensure that the Xero experience is seamless.
It was a huge couple of days at Xerocon Sydney 2023, and I’m truly excited about the way they’re continuing to enhance their products which focus on the areas they know are most important to us, as the client.
