Cultural inclusion in NZ Rugby: Applying tikanga and mātauranga Māori in a sporting context

A case study of tikanga and mātauranga Māori applied in a sporting context: the Bay of Plenty Steamers.

As part of his PhD research, Dr Hapeta undertook research on cultural inclusion and Māori culture in NZ Rugby. The research looked at the impact upon wellbeing for Māori and Non Māori players.
This webinar will discuss the work and case study of the Bay of Plenty (Steamers) Rugby team, using examples such as mottos, mascots and players researching maunga within the Bay of Plenty rohe.
