Eruera Maxted (Te Arawa/Ngā Puhi)
Eruera studied at studied at the university of Otago where he gained a BSc in Nutrition, a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics and a Certificate in Health Promotion. Though Eru grew up in Marlborough region he has spent the last 20 years living amongst his Ngā Puhi relatives in Whangarei with his wife Marama and his two children Te Rewa and Oranga.
Eruera has over 15 years’ experience as a dietitian having worked in many dietitian roles, both clinical and public health, and also worked as part of a Maori health planning, funding and contract management team for health services in Northland. Eruera also has an interest in research, completing his Masters of Health Science focused on the nutritional wellbeing of Maori living in advanced age and therefore understands the both the nutritional requirement and challenges of our kuia and koroua.
Māori dietitians are very rare and male Māori dietitians are more so, we are therefore extremely privileged to gain the services of Eruera Maxted. Eruera will only be working one night a week so we expect there will be a large demand for his services therefore if you want his services there may be a large wait or feel free to use the services of our other qualified dietitians.

Karli is a Registered Dietitan having recently completed her Masters of in Nutrition and Dietetics at Massey University, where she also gained a BSc in Human Nutrition with a minor in Spanish. Though currently based in Auckland, Karli is originally from Ohope, and loves getting back home any time she can. As well as being a keen Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner, Karli enjoys getting active outdoors and on the water.
With a strong background of research focusing on not only what, but why we consume different foods, Karli is well placed to explore and to help you overcome the emotional, environmental and mental barriers you may have towards healthy eating. As no two individuals are the same, Karli makes sure to tailor every session to your specific needs, providing realistic and achievable guidance to help you best achieve your goals. Karli looks forward to meeting you, and helping you become the best that you can be.
