Registrations are now open for our upcoming Māori Nutrition and Physical Activity Symposium. Held at Te Mahurehure Cultural Marae in Auckland from 5-6 April, the theme of our Symposium is Working the Kumara Vine:

Ka tika te whakatō purapura o āianei, Ka tika te puāwai hua o āmuri
Careful and deliberate planting will ensure good growth for the future

This whakatauākī refers to the combined effort of both the environmental and physical mastery required the tend to māra kai. When this understanding is applied it will not only sustain life for the immediate community involved but will also positively contribute to the continuation of whakapapa.

Join us on April 5 as we kick off our Symposium exploring themes around understanding levers of change and systems thinking through a Māori lens. Some of our keynote speakers include Greens MP Marama Davidson and Dr. Ihirangi Heke.

Following our Symposium, Toi Tangata have two professional development workshops on April 6. These Toi Ako workshops are for the Māori Nutrition and Physical Activity workforce who are working with whānau, communities and other services. These workshops are limited to 20 spaces so be quick to register.
