Atua Matua ki Tāmaki Makaurau Wānanga
Coming off the back of the release of the Atua Matua Kaitiaki video resources, Toi Tangata is facilitating a one-day wānanga with Dr. Ihirangi Heke where kaimahi can experience the process behind the resource.
Atua Matua wānanga ki Tāmaki is an opportunity for kaimahi in the physical activity and nutrition sector to connect to the Atua Matua framework in a practical setting. This workshop will show kaimahi how mātauranga Māori can be interpreted into practical physical activity applications.
The wānanga will start by looking at the three kaitiaki resources that have been recently released. Along with the mātauranga, whakapapa and huahuatau, we will be exploring the physical application of these kaitiaki outside and in a pool facility. Please come prepared for this with appropriate general active wear and swimming gear.
Prior to the workshop all registered attendees will be sent information about a different group of kaitiaki that will be discussed within the workshop. Kaimahi involved will be invited to research the kaitiaki that they connect to. This kōrero will be the foundation of the next set of kaitiaki video resources.
This wānanga is fully booked. Our next Atua Matua Wānanga will be held in November in Waiwhetu.
