E te iwi, nui tonu rā, tēnā rā koutou katoa. ka karanga atu rā te reo aroha ki a koutou e mahi ana i te mahi rangatira i roto i ngā hāpori Māori huri noa i te motu. Kei runga noa atu koutou katoa! Ki a koutou ngā kaimahi hauora i roto i ngā whare hauora Māori me ngā whare oranga hoki, ki ngā kairangahau i roto i ngā whare wānanga, ki ngā kaiārahi whānau e tautoko ana i te kaupapa oranga Māori, ko tēnei te mihi nui ki a tātou katoa.
Ka puta ko Atutahi, te whetū e taki i te kōanga. Ka hoki mai te pipiwharauroa, i kawea e ia he karere.
This is my last and most loving acknowledgement to all of you doing the good work throughout the country. Next month I will be finishing my good work with Toi Tangata and moving to support the leadership of my Iwi, Ngā Rauru Kiitahi. It has been such an honour working with everyone I’ve come into contact with under the mantle of Te Hotu Manawa Māori and Toi Tangata. I carry the intention of our good work with me always and I look forward to seeing you again soon in another capacity.
In the meantime, this month Toi Tangata have invited leaders throughout the motu to contribute thoughts, insights and practicalities on the kaupapa of oranga māori. In this issue Jade Temepara (Ngāi Tahu, Kāti Mamoe, Ngā Puhi, Ngāti Tūwharetoa) shares some of her insights as a Māori food grower, seed saver, cook, activist and entrepreneur. Her first recipe is an introduction to her musings and comes with a paukena and karengo recipe too; what a score!
Tama Tū Tama Ora!
