The Mobile Wānanga

Dr. Ihirangi Heke.

Earlier in 2016 Dr Ihirangi Heke took on a hearty month-long challenge, cycling the length of New Zealand. Although this event alone is an exceptional feat for anyone, in the familiar Heke ‘challenge by choice’ style, he also sought to connect with as many kaimahi, whānau, and friends along the way with the Mobile Wānanga.

What was this all about you ask?! As discussed at the Toi Tangata Hui-ā-Tau this year, the Mobile Wānanga was a forum to ‘hīkoi te kōrero’ or walk the talk. By connecting with people in as many rohe as possible and checking in regularly with the dedicated Facebook page, Dr Heke was able to share his experience, discussion points, and mātauranga across a wide platform.

Following on from an inspiring finish at New Zealand’s most southern point, the Mobile Wānanga audience has been somewhat suspended. This webinar is an opportunity for the random whakaaro and personal wānanga to be discussed, appeased, and progressed with the Atua Matua himself.
